Forwarding the future of business, finance, and innovation.

The Blakeney Institute was founded in 2023 by Alyssa Schoonmaker (Business Economics student at the University of Chicago) and Sophia Tabibian (Electrical Engineering student at Stanford University) to answer the fundamental question: what will the future of business and finance look like, and how will young & ambitious people forward such future?

Throughout the past three years, Alyssa and Sophia have built a community of 230+ members across renowned institutions including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Wharton, Stanford, and Phillips Academy; collaborated with over 20 CEOs, CIOs, founders, and consultants across the technology, fashion, sustainability, and policy sectors; established three research initiatives, namely Phillips Academy’s inaugural AI Fellowship for evaluating the quality of over 13 LLMs for financial research; and onboarded 15+ Advisory Board members, including Dr. Samy Bengio – Senior Director of Machine Learning Research at Apple.

Alyssa and Sophia are excited to continue their partnership as they begin their first year of university this fall.
